Update on Bruno the Boxer in Mallorca We are so excited to inform you all that Bruno is booked on a flight from Palma to Gatwick on Sunday 12th September. This is the earliest date from his 'all clear' blood test for 10th September. Teresa Vitoria writes: “All this has been made possible due to the generosity and kindness of all your members and friends who have worked so hard to raise the money. My village post office have also collected donations; one dear couple in their 80's invited me round to see the photos of him and to donate. They worked in Malta rescuing dogs in the 1970s. They still have wonderful memories and photos on the wall of a couple of dogs they kept and brought to U.K.” Below are photos taken before Teresa left at the end of June with Bruno, and also one from when they discovered him in such abandoned, and in such dire straits. He now weighs 30 kilos, substantially up from 15 kilos. His rabies blood test is all clear, his passport is all signed (except for tick and tapeworm) which is done by the vet just before he leaves. He is all ready for the big OFF. I just want to reiterate that the care and concern shown by our members and friends has been overwhelming. Our target of £500 has most recently been realised by a stunning anonymous donation of £150. I would also like to mention the generosity of the Essex & Eastern Counties Boxer Club who donated £50 towards this cause. Once in the UK Bruno will be staying with a family to integrate and fully train him, before placing him in an appropriate home. There will be an update of pictures and his journey to the UK at the beginning of September. Once again, WELL DONE to all. Nigel J Utting
